Catherine P. Armstrong

At age 44, Kate Armstrong's married years abroad were over, she was a single-parent to a teenage son and back in the States on home soil ready to start over. Her book, In the Direction, is a compilation of her journal entries and letters from those days and documents the evolution of her dream to own, live and work on a farm and make a success of it.
During her farm years, Kate journaled and wrote short stories. To network with other writers, she joined the National Lamplighter's Story League and the Charlottesville Chapter of the Virginia Writers Club. Her book, David and The Mittens Kitten Stories, is a collection of children's stories adapted from those she used to tell her son.
For over 40 years, Kate lived her dream at Gilnockie Farm in Fluvanna County, Virginia before retiring in her 80s. At age 92, she wrote one more story to add to the Mittens Kitten Stories before her passing.
